Today, I attended the Baltic On-board meeting where we had a productive discussion about the year ahead for my apprenticeship, including the various courses we will be undertaking. The main focus of the meeting was on reports and understanding how to effectively complete them.
During work at Clook, we emphasized the importance of organizing and managing passwords for the Workplace platform, ensuring secure access to our work-related accounts.
The discussion on reports was insightful, highlighting the significance of maintaining evidence to keep track of our work. It was suggested to collect evidence on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness. Examples of reports shared during the meeting included white papers, proposals, and special reports, illustrating the diverse formats reports can take.
We also discussed the essential characteristics of reports, which should be clear, concise, and well-structured. These qualities ensure that the information is easily understandable and effectively communicates the intended message.
The meeting further delved into the stages of report writing. We learned about the importance of considering the purpose and audience of the report, tailoring it to their specific needs. Writing the report involved adhering to conventional features, concise writing, and presenting a blend of opinions and facts to convey a balanced perspective.
Proofing the report was emphasized as a crucial step. We discussed SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) checks, various proofreading techniques, and the importance of reviewing tenses and persons used in the report to maintain consistency and accuracy.
Overall, the Baltic On-board meeting provided valuable insights into the upcoming year of my apprenticeship, emphasizing the significance of reports, evidence collection, and the essential components of well-crafted reports.
